Each year, Knights of Columbus Council 8182 proudly awards scholarships to outstanding young Catholic men and women who demonstrate academic promise, character, and a commitment to their faith. To compete, applicants must submit a 500-word essay responding to a question developed by the Council and approved by our Pastor.
To ensure complete fairness, each essay is evaluated anonymously by three Scholarship Committee Evaluators using a standardized scoring rubric developed by the Committee. Scholarship recipients are then selected based solely on the quality of their essays.
Every student who submits a qualifying essay receives a scholarship, with the award amount paid directly to the student's college or university. The amount of each scholarship is determined by the Scholarship Committee according to the student's placement in the competition.
The attached document recognizes these exceptional young men and women for their achievements, and we respectfully request that it be posted on the South Carolina Knights of Columbus website so they may receive the recognition they have so richly earned.
