Into the Breach: An Apostolic Exhortation for Catholic Men

To step into the breach, we must begin by recognizing an important reality: that we are engaged in a battle for the hearts and souls of every person.

This battle is real, and it is spiritual. It began before we were born and will continue until Christ comes again. It is larger than any of us can see. It includes angelic beings, the men and women who have gone before us in the faith, as well as each of us. As Knights we have committed in a special way to engage in this battle in defense of our families, our parishes, our communities, and our world. And yet, since the turn of the millennium, millions of men have left the Catholic faith. There is a sizeable breach in the lines.

Into the Breach media consists of a booklet written by retired Bishop of Phoenix, Thomas Olmsted, and a series of video lessons and accompanying study guide brochures.

The original Into the Breach series is composed of the twelve videos on topics that are most pertinent to Catholic men. The videos average 13 minutes in length.

The second series is Mission of the Family, a series of six videos.

The third series is yet to be released is The Dignity of Work. This series will be released in 2026, but there is a trailer video ready for viewing.

Each of these videos covers an appropriate discussion topic for a single Cor gathering along with that chapter’s study guide to drive the faith formation discussions. Additionally, Councils may count Into the Breach for double credit toward their Faith in Action – Faith program. The videos are also great viewing by individual Knights and family members.
